Former European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker called on the European Union to purchase the Russian "Sputnik V" vaccine against the Corona virus.
Juncker said in the Austrian channel ORV2: “When the European Medicines Agency confirms the safety of the“ Sputnik V ”vaccine, we must buy it because the virus knows no boundaries and any effective vaccine must be used regardless of the country in which it was developed if it is available. However, it is not correct to refuse to use the vaccine because it is produced in Russia.
The European Medicines Agency began studying the Russian "Sputnik V" vaccine on the fourth of last March, and this process may continue until late next May. This came after the scientific magazine "Lancet" confirmed that its effectiveness rate reached 91.6 percent.
