Join us for the story of Ziva Wilhelmina Sosek, who will tell how she found refuge from the Nazis in a Christian orphanage in Uzbekistan • After being sent with her mother, she was abandoned and left in a state of sickness and hunger

This year, as part of the "Memory in the Living Room" project, physical salons will be hosted and hosted, following the Corona plague, where the meetings were held virtually using the zoom.

As in previous years, this year too Salon will be hosted on digital platforms, to ensure that they hear the stories and testimonies of Holocaust survivors and members of the second and third generations.

Memory in the living room

Today (Thursday) at 14:00, Zivah Wilhelmina Susek (81), who will tell the story of her survival after she was sent to Uzbekistan with her mother and found refuge in a Christian orphanage, was hosted by "Zichron in the living room", in collaboration with "Israel Hayom" website.

Ziva, a former educator, writer and current poet, has been a resident of Tel Aviv since immigrating to Israel until today.

A daughter of parents who fled Poland to Ukraine, was sent with her mother to Uzbekistan, after her father was abducted into the Russian army.

Ziva survived the war years alone as a baby abandoned by both her parents and found refuge in a Christian orphanage.

In difficult conditions of illness and hunger, instead of a few children surviving, she managed to survive the Holocaust.

Her book, "Wilhelmina's Appetite," deals with her memories as a child of the Holocaust.

Ziva will tell her fascinating and inspiring story about her life - from her childhood of many hardships and torments to her experiences as a Holocaust child in "Sabra" Israel and her full integration in Israel.

The special meeting will be broadcast live on the website, app and Facebook page of "Israel Today".
