"The conversation that Nicolás Maduro and Jorge Rodríguez should have is not with us, it is with Guaidó," says Juan González, principal director of the National Security Council for the Western Hemisphere.
The State Department official insists that the US will reconsider the sanctions against the Venezuelan regime if it sees acts by the questioned president of Venezuela, such as the formation of the National Electoral Council.
González clarifies that if there is no clear position from Maduro, sanctions against his government will increase.
