The Archbishop of Paris, Mgr Michel Aupetit, announced on Wednesday April 7 the opening of a canonical procedure targeting the parish priest of Sainte-Eugène-Sainte-Cécile, where an Easter mass took place without respecting the instructions sanitary facilities.
This procedure, which falls under Church law, could lead to sanctions.

This traditional rite mass took place on Saturday in the Saint-Eugène-Sainte-Cécile church, in the 9th arrondissement of Paris.
In a video of the office, we see priests, without masks and very close to each other, giving the host directly into the mouths of the faithful.
In the church, believers, many visibly elderly, are tight together.
The diocese of Paris said Tuesday
"amazed at the obvious non-compliance with the essential instructions for distancing, wearing a mask"

These measures
"had yet been the subject of clear instructions, regularly reminded by the diocese of Paris, to all parishes"

For its part, the Paris prosecutor's office has already opened an investigation for "endangering the lives of others".
