KMB hired two new senior executives at the beginning of this year. Among them, Kwan Cuilan, who was formerly the Assistant Director (Bus and Railway) of the Transport Department, took over in January this year after the "cold river period" and joined KMB in charge of route planning and train management.

At that time, some members of the Legislative Council criticized that officials who had been in charge of bus affairs in the government for a long time joined the KMB after leaving their posts. The perception of "supervisors becoming operators" was poor.

Kwan Tsui-lan responded to her for the first time when she was interviewed by KMB's internal publication "KMB Today".

Guan pointed out that past work experience has helped KMB improve communication efficiency when negotiating with the government, but emphasized that "the government will not approve the company's plan applications because of me."

When Kwan Cuilan was appointed Assistant Director (Bus and Railway) of the Transport Department, the Transport Department revised the "Guidelines on Working Rest and Meal Breaks for Bus Captains", saying that it is easier for bus companies to hire drivers and retain talents after the revision.

During her tenure in the Transport Department, Kwan Cuilan served as an Assistant Commissioner (Bus and Railway) and was responsible for managing the reorganization of franchised bus routes in various districts for many years.

On January 4 this year, she joined KMB as the Deputy Director of Transport (Bus Transport).

In the latest issue of KMB, it was revealed that after KMB joined KMB, Kwan Cuilan was in charge of route planning and traffic management. He noticed that Hong Kong people's outing activities have increased significantly under the epidemic, and KMB plans to open up more outing routes.

During the interview, Guan Cuilan also mentioned her past public office.

Guan said that past experience helped her understand the operation of government departments and improve communication efficiency when negotiating with the government, but emphasized that "of course the government will not approve the company's plan applications because of me."

Regarding the future development of KMB, Kwan Tsui-lan said that it will strengthen the connection between different regions through interchange.

The government announced that it will step up the promotion of electric buses. She also pointed out that it will make arrangements for route planning, operation arrangements, and maintenance support.
