A strange and singular protest occurred this Thursday at the doors of the offices of the International Monetary Fund in Washington DC.

An

activist disguised as Eva Perón

led the protest of a group that asked the organization to reform the way it calculates the debt of developing countries.

The protest was organized by an organization called Avaaz, which defines itself as a "

global community of online mobilization

that integrates citizen-driven political action into global decision-making processes."

"WE ARE at #FMI headquarters with a clear call: for fair and sustainable economic models to rethink debt calculations taking into account the biodiversity and climate protections provided by many developing countries, usually in exchange for

little money. or no economic reward,

"wrote on Twitter Oscar Soria, an Argentine who in his account presents himself as the group's campaign director.

Around the woman was a group of

people holding Argentine flags

, as well as bouquets of roses.
