Two people were killed in Maryland, eastern USA, when an out-of-service army officer was shot dead under the pretext of trying to break into a car.
The Associated Press quoted the US police as saying that their officers responded to reports of shooting in a parking lot and arrived to find an officer outside his service who allegedly dealt with suspects in a car break-in.
Tacoma Park District Police spokeswoman Cathy Plevy said the incident was still under investigation.
