The first changes in the product catalog after the
recent merger of CaixaBank and Bankia
have not been long in coming.
Just a few days after the union was consummated, the new entity has reorganized the website of the old Madrid savings bank (where the logos of the two banks already appear) and has withdrawn the On Account and the Dog Fiendly Account, which are no longer available for your hiring.
The
On Account
was one of Bankia's star products, 100% online aimed at clients with a digital profile and without commissions.
It was the only account that was outside the 'For being you' program, which requires a certain relationship with the entity in order not to pay commissions.
Right now, in the accounts section, the offer is reduced to four options: the Youth Account, My First Account, the Easy Account and the Basic Payment Account.
For its part, the Dog Fiendly Account was marketed to animal-loving customers.
For those Bankia clients who had contracted accounts that have disappeared from the catalog, Bankia informs on its website that the conditions of the products contracted with them will remain intact for a time, although they advise paying attention to any communication channel of the bank ( postal mail, e-mail, notifications of the app, etc.) in case there is any notice of possible alterations that the accounts may suffer.
"Customers will continue to keep the Account On until the bank says otherwise," they point out from HelpMyCash.

Guide for Bankia clients regarding the merger with CaixaBank
The portal explains that, since the requirements for the On Account to be free imply having the
app
installed, users should know that Bankia has confirmed that until the end of 2021 all customers with Bankia brand accounts will be able to continue managing them through the channels entity's digital data, both in its
app
and in its online banking.
Therefore, they will be able to continue operating with your account as before.
For their part, the clients of the Dog Fiendly Account account, which was subject to the 'For being you' program, must maintain the required link to be exempt from commissions until further notice by the entity.
However, the entity is beginning to disclose information about
CaixaBank Now
,
CaixaBank's
digital banking system, so it is to be expected that, shortly, both systems can be used before they become one.
After the merger, the CEO of the new CaixaBank, its CEO, Gonzalo Gortázar, assured that the offer of both entities will converge for a time, but soon there will be homogeneous products.
