It is a surreal scene that took place under the eyes of a municipal police patrol in Elancourt (Yvelines) on April 2.

At Trappes, the police chased a Renault Twingo traveling at high speed with five individuals on board.

"The driver took all the risks and refused several times to comply," said a police source.

The crew, already spotted, had committed two other aggravated refusals to comply in the 8th arrondissement of Paris and in Fontenay-le-Fleury (Yvelines).

The chase ended about ten kilometers later when the driver lost control of his vehicle at Saint-Cyr-l'Ecole.

None of the five passengers was injured.

The five young individuals were arrested with the help of the national police, without further incident, but the police were completely surprised when they discovered that the driver was only ... 14 years old.

Small amounts of drugs were also found in the Twingo and the driver tested positive for cannabis.

The young driver placed in a closed educational center

The vehicle was reported stolen in Maurepas on March 23.

None of the detainees was able to give details of these facts.

Following the custodial measures, four of the five young people, aged 16 and 15, were presented to a juvenile judge to be indicted and then placed under judicial supervision.

The young driver was placed in a closed educational center.

A few days earlier, two bikers from the same Elancourt brigade had already chased another driver near Guyancourt.

After refusing to stop, the driver, this time 21 years old, also lost control of his vehicle before crashing into a pole.

He had managed to escape on foot while getting rid of sachets of cannabis.

Known to the police, and knowing that he was wanted, he ended up going to the Élancourt police station on March 30.

Placed in police custody, he admitted having transported drugs on behalf of a third party in order to settle a debt but refused to disclose the identity of the latter, for fear of reprisals.
