A 30-year-old Tiberias resident was stabbed on Tuesday by a man who was traveling with him on a bus in the city, after he asked for a mask to be worn.
He was seriously injured and was taken to Poria Hospital in Tiberias.
The suspect, Tamir Eliyahu, fled and hid in an apartment in the city, and was arrested today (Friday) after an investigation and searches conducted by the police for two days.
The 30-year-old allegedly asked Eliyahu why he was not wearing a mask in accordance with the Corona virus' guidelines for traveling by public transport.
The suspect waited until they got off the bus, stabbing him all over his body.
Following a police request, the Magistrate's Court in Nazareth extended his detention until Monday.

Throughout the corona year there have been various cases of assault following a similar demand.
Among other things, an indictment was filed against a 46-year-old Netanya resident for assaulting and causing damage to a 74-year-old deli owner who asked him to wear a mask.
The act came after an earlier incident, in which the defendant entered a grocery store in the city without a mask and was asked to leave it - and in response threatened the owner of the place.
