British Prime Minister Boris Johnson praised the "extraordinary work of the Duke of Edinburgh", who died on Friday at the age of 99.
“He led the royal family throughout these years alongside Queen Elizabeth II, he was an environmentalist.
With his degree from the Duke of Edinburgh, he inspired thousands of young Britons.
The Duke will be remembered for everything he did, especially for his support for the Queen, as a husband and it is of His Majesty and his family that the whole of the United Kingdom thinks today ”, a said Boris Johnson, speaking at a press conference.
“Today we offer our condolences to Queen Elizabeth, Her Majesty and all her family.
As a Nation and Kingdom we salute the extraordinary work of the Duke of Edinburgh, ”added the Prime Minister.
