Two young men in their 20s were shot dead this evening (Friday) in the town of Deir al-Assad in the north of the country.

Two children aged 10 and 13 were lightly to moderately injured in the same incident.

An ambulance ambulance that was called to the locality evacuated the two young men in critical condition to the Galilee Hospital in Nahariya for medical treatment - where they were pronounced dead.

The children are also being treated at the hospital.



Large police forces were called to the scene of the shooting.

The shooting in Deir al-Assad joins another violent incident in the Arab sector, which took place a few hours earlier in the Galilee village of Ivtin, during which a 21-year-old young man was shot dead. Rambam Hospital in Haifa.

Police have opened an investigation into the incident.



Police officers and YSM personnel arrived at the scene, and forensic investigators began collecting findings.

The three brothers were sitting in the yard of a house in the village in the evening, when an assassin arrived at the scene and opened fire on those present.
