STORY - Twenty-five years after the assassination of the seven French religious, Le Figaro unveils the detailed account of a former agent who overwhelms the Algerian secret services. The thesis of manipulation, supported by expert reports, is reinforced.

Twenty-five years after the tragedy, the gray areas are struggling to dissipate in the extraordinary investigation into the murder of the seven monks of Tibéhirine, kidnapped in their monastery on the night of March 26 to 27, 1996 while the country was in the throes of civil war.

Although the official version designates the Armed Islamic Group (GIA), the thesis of manipulation by the Algerian authorities was supported by the conclusions of autopsies carried out on the heads of the religious as well as by disturbing inconsistencies in the schedule.

Coming from the very heart of the Algerian secret services of the time, it is worn by Karim Moulai who says he worked between 1987 and 2001 for the former Intelligence Directorate.
