The Hong Kong Government stated that it has been notified by the Honorary Consulate of the Sultanate of Oman (Oman) in Hong Kong that holders of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region passport can travel to Oman visa-free for a maximum stay of 10 days. They must have confirmed hotel reservations and medical insurance upon entry. And return air ticket.
A spokesperson for the Immigration Department said that Oman is a country along the "Belt and Road".
Under the "One Belt One Road" initiative, this visa-free arrangement will bring greater convenience to Hong Kong tourists after the epidemic, and will help strengthen the tourism, cultural and economic ties between the two places.
The government stated that, including Oman, a total of 168 countries or regions have granted visa-free or visa-on-arrival treatment to HKSAR passport holders.
However, the government reminds that in response to the rapid changes in the new crown pneumonia epidemic around the world, the red travel alert issued by the government to all overseas countries or regions on March 17, 2020 is still in effect. The government strongly urges citizens to avoid all non-essential travel plans.
