A riot police car was driving away from Laguna City on the westbound Kwun Tong Bypass at the beginning of last year and collided with two taxis and a lorry.
In the accident, two taxi drivers, a female passenger and two riot police officers were injured and sent to hospital for treatment.
The owner of one of the taxis filed a complaint with the District Court today (9th) against the Attorney General who represented the police and the police officer who drove the police car at that time for nearly $100,000.
The plaintiff, Chen Mei-hung, was the owner of the taxi involved. He filed a complaint that the taxi was driven by another person, Cheng Jiajun, at about 9:45 am on January 4, 2020. He was alerted to the Kwun Tong bypass. The police car driven by Wong Man-ki crashed and crashed. The traffic accident was caused by his negligence.
Chen asked the first defendant, the Attorney General representing the police, and the second defendant Huang Wenji to pay 98,345 yuan in damages, plus interest and legal costs.
The complaint mentioned that Huang Wenji drove too fast at that time and failed to stop the police car or slow down in time. He also failed to keep a proper distance from the taxi to avoid a collision, and eventually crashed into the rear of the taxi.
