The Queen's husband died peacefully at the age of 99.
Prince Philip, the husband of the British Queen Elizabeth II, is dead. The Royal Family announced via Twitter: “In deep sadness the Queen announced the death of her beloved husband, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
Buckingham Palace announced that he died "peacefully in Windsor Castle" on Friday morning.
The prince was hospitalized for a month in March.
He was 99 years old.
It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle.
