"Lilibeth", the nickname of

Queen Elizabeth,

suffered between the obligation as a young sovereign dedicated to her people and her love, the now deceased Philip of Edinburgh.

A prince leaving in his convertible car or hiding in a taxi, which he had bought so as not to be discovered, to the clubs and houses of friends in London.

Infidelities and love stories

never tested

or photographed.

At that time there were no paparazzi or social networks.

They were other times and other codes.

That behavior would have taken him one day to the Southern Cone, more precisely to Argentina, in a story that has an air of legend and some hints of reality.

It could have been one of those

serious sentimental escapades

of the handsome prince, who - according to the legend - traveled to meet one of his great loves:

Malenita Blaquier,

at the La Concepción ranch.

Malena Nelson Hunter de Blaquier

was the great lady of Argentine society.

She died in 2017 in Buenos Aires, and with her left one of the women who most revolutionized Buenos Aires high society.

In 1959, 22 years after her wedding to

Juan José Silvestre Blaquier Elizalde,

Malena was left a widow.

He was 42 years old and had nine children.

Then, the aristocrat began to manage the family agro-industrial complex.

The most stately property of the family is

La Concepción

, a 6,000 hectare farm 140 kilometers from Capital Federal.

That house made headlines when Philip of Edinburgh

stayed in it

in 1962.

The prince consort of England would have traveled to Argentina (and this would be the other side of the story) in a strategy of the British Government with President Arturo Frondizi, to avoid a coup.

However, on March 27 of that month the Armed Forces decided to depose the president.

It was then that Blaquier's widow offered to stay in La Concepción.

"Felipe

shared the farm with my children and I

, in addition to the married couple who take care of us. He was very nice, a very funny, attentive, calm man ...", Malena recalled in an interview.

When the coup against Frondizi took place, the Palace and the Foreign Office demanded that the Duke of Edinburgh leave Argentina immediately.

The pilot of the plane was Commander Middleton, who was none other than Kate's grandfather, today the Duchess of Cambridge and future queen.

No one could communicate with him.

Felipe de Edimburgo went through a South American coup, in one of the most beautiful estancias in the province of Buenos Aires,

completely in love

.

It was the year 1962.

Malena Blaquier denied the romance.

"The only thing that binds me to the duke is our passion for polo."

However, it was the only time that Queen Elizabeth was on the brink of divorce.

Every Argentine ambassador who came to Buckingham Palace mentioned polo, the Blaquier, the Heguys, the horses.

The queen tensed just hearing the last name.
