The fears were dispelled: only half a percent of all those entering Israel are verified corona patients

The number of landers in Israel has risen by 80% since the increase in the daily quota of entrants and the abolition of the Exceptions Committee, and only 11.6 of the returnees each week have been diagnosed positive for the virus.

Countries with the highest chance of mutations entering: Ukraine and Ethiopia.

A month has passed since the daily quota of entrants to Israel increased through Ben Gurion Airport, and the High Court canceled the Exceptions Committee that allows them to enter.

In the last 30 days, the Ministry of Health has examined the amount of morbidity that has penetrated Israel, and from which countries the greatest morbidity has come and with the highest chances of another variant entering Israel.

According to the data, the average daily income in weekly cross-section is 3,744, while the average daily income is slightly larger and stands at 3,769.

Compared to last month, the daily number of arrivals to Israel increased by 80%, while the daily number of departures increased by only 7%.

The Ministry of Health was very concerned about an increase among those going abroad, who upon returning to Israel would increase the risk of a mutation - but for now the fears have been dispelled.

Concerns about the introduction of variants were dispelled.

In total, on a weekly average, there are 11.6 verified viruses returned to Israel, which is half a percent of all those who enter.

The small percentage of repeat verified is the same as the percentage of positive tests across the country.

This means that a large part of the morbidity in the country may be "imported", but it is clear that there is still a large morbidity unrelated to returnees from abroad. The

number of returnees from abroad has increased gradually, but according to the data 60.6% of all entrants are entitled to a green label.

This week, the percentage of those vaccinated and recovering among returnees rose to close to 70%.

According to the decision of the Ministry of Health, the vaccinated and recovering must also be inspected when getting off the plane at Ben Gurion Airport, but they are not required to be isolated.

"There is currently no insulation supervision"

Professor Nadav Davidovich, head of the School of Public Health at Ben-Gurion University and a member of Magen Israel's expert cabinet, explains that he fears that 40% of returnees will not be vaccinated or recover, while supervision with electronic bracelets will only begin on April 20.

"There is currently no supervision and we do not know whether the unvaccinated returnees maintain isolation. The issue of enforcement is still quite erratic and can lead to great risks, but the low numbers of returning patients can show that we are starting to control the disease and there is a possibility of wider opening."

From the data, it appears that until two days ago, almost all returnees underwent a serological examination, but in the last two days there has been an extreme decrease in the number of returnees examined.

It is likely that most of them have not yet passed a test, and can pass it up to three days after landing.

Another reason is that many of the vaccinated "skip" the test despite the ministry's requirement.

Thus new mutations may enter without being detected in advance.

The Ministry of Health examines how many of the vaccinated returned to the corona, their tests are sent to the floor in the Central Laboratory of the Ministry of Health to test whether and which of them were infected with a non-British variant or the original Corona virus.

The Ministry of Health segmented the verified entrants from eight selected countries.

17,237 flies have returned

from the

United States

in the past month, 60 of which have been infected with the virus.

The proportion of patients is 0.3%, but the likelihood of a variant among them is very high.

The two most prominent countries are

Ukraine

with a 1.5% patient rate and a high probability of variant entry, with ticket sales for Rosh Hashanah in Uman already starting in the background, after Ukraine banned Israelis from entering its territory on Tishrei last year.

Another country at risk is

Ethiopia

, from which the number of entrants is very small - only 927, but the rate of patients is 4.3% and the probability of entering a variant is very high.

There are many returnees

from

Turkey

, but the percentage of positive tests is very low and stands at 0.4%.

The same number of recurrences and the percentage of positive tests can also be seen among those returning from

France

, despite the high level of morbidity in the country.

In

Germany

,

Russia

, and the

United Kingdom

there is an average of 3,300 repeaters with a not high testing rate of only 0.2% and a low risk of variants entering.

Rate of patients among returnees from abroad

  • USA - 0.3%

  • Turkey - 0.4%

  • Germany - 0.2%

  • Russia - 0.3%

  • France - 0.5%

  • Ukraine - 1.5%

  • United Kingdom - 0.2%

  • Ethiopia - 4.3%

Former Director General of the Ministry of Health, Professor Gabi Barbash, explained to Walla! That he is encouraged by the numbers. "These are very nice figures, but we must still be careful that reckless decisions at Ben Gurion Airport could take us months back," Barbash warned.

"Also, the number of unvaccinated circulars needs to be reduced so that we can control it in the best way."
