Tang Yingjie, a man, rushed towards the police on a motorcycle with a backpack with the "Revolution of Hong Kong Times" banner on his back on July 1 last year.
He was charged with two counts of inciting others to split the country and terrorist activities. This is the first case of the Hong Kong version of the National Security Law.
The case has been scheduled for trial in June this year, and there will be no jury.
Tang believes that the decision not to have a jury is unreasonable. He filed a judicial review the day before. The case has been quickly scheduled for hearing on May 10, which is expected to take one day, but it has not yet shown which judge will handle it.
The defendant Tang Yingjie (24 years old) was charged with one count of inciting others to split the country and one count of terrorist activity.
The case has been scheduled for trial on June 23 this year, and it is expected to take 15 days.
The defense earlier applied for adjournment of the trial period to await the result of the judicial review, but was rejected.
