The Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Jorge Ariza, assured that his country would triumph over the US sanctions that "aim to oust President Nicolas Maduro from power."
Ariaza said in statements to the media that "the United States has always wanted to put its hand on the Venezuelan wealth," noting that the Western measures against his country "have caused great damage."
Ariaza pointed out that many of Venezuela's assets abroad are frozen and that his country, which exports most of its oil to the United States, must now find other customers, some of whom must remain secret so as not to be subject to US sanctions.
Ariazza expressed his hope for "normalizing relations with the United States and Europe," stressing that his country "knows how to live and bypass sanctions, frustrate and circumvent them."
