A 23-year-old man was arrested this Friday at noon by neighbors and a City Police officer
after trying to rob a business in the Retiro neighborhood.
The thief was caught while escaping in a car
with a fake gun
.
It was around 12:15 when a police officer stopped at the intersection of Talcahuano and Juncal streets observed how a man tried to get into a Fiat Palio to escape while he
was being pursued by several residents of the place
.
Faced with this situation, the officer approached the vehicle and yelled a halt, but the suspect did not comply with the order and sought to continue with the escape.
It was the neighbors and merchants in the area, who had witnessed the attempted robbery,
who opened the doors of the car
and prevented it from moving forward.
The scene was recorded in a video that a woman recorded
from a balcony
of one of the buildings in the area.
In the images it is seen that one of the neighbors gets into the right side of the car and begins to struggle with the thief, while another enters through the passenger side and takes out the keys, which he then throws on the roof of the car.
After taking him out of the Palio, the neighbors begin to beat him.
One of them held the thief with his knees against the ground, while the police who were at the scene called in reinforcements.

steel pellets
.
Hours later, according to sources in the investigation, it was confirmed that the delay is a 23-year-old man with a
history of robbing

On that occasion, he entered the store,
grabbed the owner by the neck and injured another woman with an awl

Then he was arrested.

A repeated reaction
Less than two months ago, three criminals who had stolen a woman's backpack in Villa Celina, La Matanza district, were caught by neighbors, who, tired of the insecurity,
stripped them naked and threw them out of the neighborhood.
Once the crime was committed, the victim
activated a neighborhood alarm
that was heard throughout the 27 blocks of the entire area.
It was there that a group of neighbors managed to capture the young people (witnesses say they would be between 13 and 16 years old)
to take off their clothes
and return the assaulted woman's belongings.
The criminals ran through the streets naked, followed by enraged neighbors.
When they came across a police cell phone, they asked the troops to please
take them away
