Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif renewed his country's adherence to the complete lifting of all sanctions imposed by the previous US administration headed by Donald Trump, as they contravene US obligations under the nuclear agreement.
Zarif said on his Twitter account today, "Iran offers a logical path for full commitment to the nuclear agreement. The United States that caused this crisis must first return to full commitment, and accordingly Iran will take a similar step after quickly verifying the American commitment."
Zarif added, "All Trump's sanctions were in violation of the nuclear agreement and should be lifted, regardless of the illogical and reckless designations of the sanctions."
The Joint Committee on the Nuclear Agreement concluded the work of the second round of its 18th periodic meeting in the Austrian capital Vienna and agreed to hold the next meeting on the fourteenth of this month at the level of assistants of foreign ministers of member states.
The head of the Iranian delegation to the meeting, Abbas Araghchi, affirmed Iran's desire to continue serious engagement in light of the political will and seriousness of other parties, calling for the need to cancel all US sanctions as an important step to revive the agreement.
