Bavaria is heading for a larger third wave.

If Chancellor Merkel and Markus Söder have their way, a tightened corona brake will soon come into force in the Free State as well.

  • The Corona * numbers in Bavaria continue to rise.

  • The incidence * has also skyrocketed in the Bavarian capital.

  • In order to get the pandemic under control, stricter corona rules will soon also apply in Bavaria.

Munich

- A look at the RKI's homepage shows: In many regions in the Free State, the number of infections is now increasing again significantly.

The Bavarian capital also cracked the important 100 mark on Saturday with an incidence of 102.5.

Corona: Tightened emergency brake soon for all of Bavaria - including an earlier curfew?

If the incidence in Munich remains above 100 for three days in a row, the emergency brake threatens with tightened corona rules from next Tuesday.

These include stricter contact restrictions and a night curfew.

In the Free State, the exit restriction was previously from 10 p.m.

If, however, Chancellor Merkel and Prime Minister Söder have their way, this could soon be brought forward to 9 p.m. in Bavaria - as it was during the first and second waves.

The reason: Since the Corona summit with the Prime Minister was canceled, a uniform emergency brake law is to be passed for all of Germany.

The design comes from Merkel, SPD Vice Chancellor Olaf Schulz and CSU boss Markus Söder.

The first details - with strict tightening - have now leaked.

If the incidence in regions is over 100, the federal government should in future be able to issue ordinances to contain the pandemic.

Corona in Bavaria: Stricter corona rules are also planned for sports and retail

But not only the curfew is the subject of the draft for a new infection protection law.

Likewise, for example, the exercise of sport should be banned from an incidence of 100, with the exception of individual sport.

Contacts are again only allowed with a person outside the household - provided the total number of people does not exceed five - with the exception of children under 14 years of age.

Theaters, cinemas, museums, zoos and other leisure facilities such as thermal baths and saunas would have to close.

There would also be a new regulation for the still approved retail trade (food retailers, drug stores, beverage markets, health food stores, pharmacies and petrol stations).

He would have to implement a nationwide limit on the number of customers per square meter.

The good news: Schools should be allowed to continue offering face-to-face teaching.

However, only if all participants submit a negative corona test * that is not older than 36 hours.

However, if the seven-day incidence is over 200 on three consecutive days, only distance teaching is allowed.

Already on Monday there is a strict test requirement in schools in the Free State.

This sometimes causes criticism - but Minister of Culture Piazolo * defends this decision.
