Covid-19: new increase in intensive care, but decrease in vaccinations

The number of Covid-19 patients hospitalized in intensive care continued to increase, climbing to 5,769, the highest for nearly a year, according to figures released this Saturday by Public Health France.

It was 5,750 on Friday, an increase of 19 which shows a deceleration (but not a decrease) in momentum.

This figure has increased by a thousand in just 15 days.

And it hadn't been this high since April 17, 2020.

The health agency said on Saturday that 388 people had been admitted to critical care services (resuscitation, intensive care, continuous monitoring) in 24 hours.

On Friday, the Minister of Health Olivier Véran estimated that these services would continue to fill up "

".

The number of hospitalized patients, however, fell on Saturday for the second day in a row, to 30,238.
