Since the announcement of Prince Philip's death this Friday at noon local time, the United Kingdom has entered a period of mourning.
The operation to organize this burial was then put in place.
The code name chosen for the occasion is Forth Bridge, named after one of Scotland's main rivers, which makes sense to the Prince and Duke of Edinburgh.
The Lord Chamberlain, one of the senior officials of the United Kingdom, and the Prime Minister will therefore have to consult the Queen to know her wishes concerning the funeral.
The prince himself had made it known that he did not want an event with great pomp, when he could have been entitled to a state funeral.
He had indicated that he preferred a private, military-style ceremony in St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle.
Due to the pandemic, the number of guests will be limited to 30 people.
Harry should be present
Prince Harry, settled in the United States, is expected to travel to the United Kingdom to attend the event.
On the other hand, it is possible that Meghan Markle, pregnant with her second child, decides to stay in California.
It was also expected that the armed forces would pay homage to Prince Philip in the streets, with thousands of police officers scheduled to control the crowds.
But still because of the pandemic, contingency plans have been organized to avoid mass gatherings.
