But there is criticism: Brighter is not always better.
Holzkirchen - brighter, more energy-saving - more annoying: LED lamps have many advantages, but they also harbor their pitfalls, as has now also been shown in the Holzkirchen municipal council.
Mayor Christoph Schmid (CSU) asked Wolfgang Huber (SPD) on the subject.

That's what it's all about: Like other municipalities, the market wants to gradually convert its street lighting in the municipality to LED in order to save energy.
However, according to Schmid, certain types of lamps that are in the municipality are simply not suitable for fitting with LEDs: “Because they light up in a circle,” explains Schmid, and not just downwards.
In this way, they can dazzle local residents.
This is exactly where there were complaints from Föching.
After the retrofit, residents complained, according to Schmid, that the lamps shine “directly into the bedroom”.
The affected specimens were then masked off in some places for the time being.
A long-term solution is still pending, also in other places in the community.
You might even have to replace the lamps yourself.
