Feng Keli, director-general of the first generation of community organization associations and former honorary associate professor of the Department of Social Work of CUHK, passed away this morning at the age of 69.

Shao Jiazhen, a former member of the social welfare sector of the Legislative Council, posted on a social platform page that Feng Keli, known as "Uncle Li," passed away in his sleep this morning.

Uncle Li fought for housing rights for Yau Ma Tei boat owners in the late 1970s and was convicted of 10 social workers in a protest operation.

Father Gan Haowang, who was with him at the time, told "Hong Kong 01" that it is unforgettable that Uncle Li was responsible and moved forward and retreated together in the incident. It is a pity for him to pass away.

Shao Jiazhen described in his post that Feng Keli, known as "Uncle Li," was the ancestor of civil disobedience in the social welfare sector.

In the late 1970s, Yau Ma Tei boat owners had been fighting for the government to land because of the harsh living environment.

Until 1979, a social worker spontaneously organized to assist boat owners to petition the Governor's Mansion and rented two coaches. On the way, they were arrested by the police at the exit of the Red Tunnel and prosecuted under the Public Security Ordinance.

Another good person is gone.

Uncle Li is the ancestor of civil disobedience.

As far back as the late 1970s, there was a group of people on the water in Yau Ma Tei, that is, boat owners. Because of the poor living environment, they fought the government to land for many years.

Father Gan Haowang, one of the 11 social workers who joined the civil disobedience in the "boat house incident", recalled to "Hong Kong 01" that the tourist bus went to the exit of the Red Tunnel and was stopped by the police and asked them to return to the typhoon shelter.

He pointed out that although "Uncle Li" was not the one who made the decision to move forward, he was willing to take responsibility, advance and retreat together, and later promote the establishment of the Social Workers' Association.

In his impression, "Uncle Li" is a responsible person, he will carefully manage his teammates, make preparations carefully, and he is good at thinking and planning, and he is willing to listen to the opinions of different social workers during meetings.

He pointed out that since 1999, when he cooperated with "Uncle Li" on the issue of the right of abode for children in the Mainland, he had rarely exchanged and met. It was a pity to learn that he died today.

The Hong Kong Federation of Social Workers also posted an article in the Social Tribute, saying that "Uncle Li" is a social worker teacher worthy of the respect of his colleagues. He dedicated his life to community work and praised him for his action experience and academic knowledge to practice what is meant by social action and citizenship. Disobedience and social justice.

Goodbye Uncle Li Feng Keli, a social work teacher worthy of the respect of his colleagues, dedicated to community work all his life.

Uncle Li left in his sleep this morning.
