Participants in the fourth session of the Third International Conference on Digital Transformation reviewed the issues of strategic planning for the adoption of e-commerce, the obstacles to its application, its impact on the economy, its endless contribution to supporting the digital transformation, the impact of e-commerce on the fluctuations of the local market and the stock market, in addition to the issues of electronic arbitration and judicial courts for commercial contracts on the Internet, obstacles and difficulties. Dr. Muhammad Ali Muhammad, Director of Policies and Strategies at the Ministry of Communications and Technology gave a presentation in which he dealt with indicators of the communications sector in Syria, where he emphasized that indicators are among the most important tools used by decision makers in all sectors and represent the cornerstone of developing and following up strategic plans, as well as assisting in the monitoring, evaluation and demonstration process. Disparities, and it must achieve internationally agreed upon conditions, such as accuracy, objectivity and accessibility.

Muhammad pointed out that the information and communication technology indicators project was implemented in accordance with a memorandum of understanding with the Syrian Informatics Scientific Society, with the aim of drawing an integrated picture of the global models and indicators that are being measured in the field of communication and information technology and defining a clear practical methodology for measuring the values ​​of the most important of these indicators in Syria and studying their development.

Engineer Muhammad Ahmad Qaid al-Riyashi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Yemeni Information and Communication Technology Syndicate, stressed that electronic commerce has become a basic and main feature of most activities, and the Arab world continues to take shy steps in this field in addition to the presence of many obstacles that affect e-commerce, including the absence of laws and legislation that regulates it and the dominance of some Countries on e-commerce, the small number of countries that use the electronic labor law, and the lack of confidence in electronic transactions and platforms, indicating the importance of publishing the outcomes of the conference to educate citizens in the Arab world about the importance of e-commerce.

Through video technology, Ahmed Jaber, founder of the Digital Mall in Dubai, made an intervention in which he said that Internet commerce is no longer a topic that presents itself when we talk about the future, but rather has become a reality that no product owner or service provider can build his plans and formulate his goals without linking them to a smart and modern platform capable of Building an effective partnership and achieving great successes, pointing out that the digital mall is a unique way of shopping that is in line with the digital transformation policies and artificial intelligence applications that have become a reality in the world now. The digital mall provides shoppers with an elegant environment like the ones they used to in traditional “malls”, using many advanced technologies and applications of intelligence. Artificial.

Jaber confirmed that the digital mall was launched during the current year to cover the UAE, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain and Kuwait, and at a later stage Jordan, Syria, Morocco, Iraq, Greece, Poland, the group of northern countries and other countries, pointing out that the Syrian version of the digital mall will be ready within weeks.

The conference activities are scheduled to be completed and concluded tomorrow at the Conference Palace in Damascus.
