The Barzeh Police Department in Damascus today arrested a woman who stole gold jewelry, sold part of it for five and a half million Syrian pounds and confiscated the price of the sold gold jewelry and the rest of the gold coins.
In a statement, SANA received a copy of it, the Ministry of Interior stated that after a person working as a lawyer claimed that he had been robbed within his home and that he limited his resemblance to the maid who works for him, and after investigating the location of the theft, it was found that there was no breakage or dislocation in the house, which confirmed the plaintiff’s suspicion of the maid.
The Ministry indicated that the woman was arrested by the Barzeh Police Department and searched by one of the policewomen in the department. One of the stolen gold coins was found in her possession, and during interrogation with her, she confessed to stealing gold jewelry in batches while working at home and selling a portion of the stolen gold jewelery at a value Five and a half million Syrian pounds, where the price of the stolen gold jewelery and the rest of the gold coins were recovered and handed over to their owner.
In another context, the Barzeh Police Department arrested two persons wanted by the Ministry in several radio stations that discussed the crime of consuming and promoting narcotic substances within the Barzeh housing, and by interrogating them, they confessed that they promoted and consumed narcotic substances, and by checking their status, it was found that they were among the leaders of previous history in promoting and consuming narcotic substances.
The ministry stated that the necessary action has been taken against those arrested, and they will be brought to the competent court.
