The permanent exhibition of "Hong Kong Stories" at the Hong Kong Museum of History was closed for renewal in October last year. Before the launch of the new exhibition, the Museum of History held the "Reproduction of Classics-The Essence of Hong Kong Stories Exhibition", exhibiting approximately 460 selected exhibits and approximately 210 pieces. photo.

The "Essence Exhibition" adopts an alternative method of display, replacing the actual scene with a large number of illustration backgrounds, creating a plain flat space.
Some people feel that the black-and-white illustrations have lost the feeling of experiencing it in person, and some people even call the exhibition like paper-made products.
The Leisure and Cultural Services Department responded that the "Essence Exhibition" uses a lively and innovative approach to present the essence of the permanent exhibition of "Hong Kong Story". The black and white background makes the colors and decorative patterns of the exhibits more prominent, and it also enhances the effect of revitalizing the faded history.
