The Center for Health Protection of the Department of Health announced that as of 0:00 on April 11, the center is investigating 13 newly confirmed cases. So far, the total number of cases in Hong Kong is 11 582 (including 11 581 confirmed cases and one suspected case).
In terms of local cases, both cases are related. The 11576th case is a 71-year-old man. He is a retired person. He became ill on April 7 with fever and itchy throat. He was diagnosed as a result of compulsory testing. Still investigating his high-risk whereabouts.
He and the 11579th case (63-year-old woman) are family members and live in the unit of Unit 32, Ai Fai Building, Yau Oi Village, Tuen Mun. The 63-year-old woman is a housewife and was diagnosed at the quarantine center.
According to the agency, the two people live on a floor higher than the floor of the unit where the person was diagnosed earlier.
According to the Department of Health, 36 environmental samples taken from the building earlier turned out to be negative.

The remaining two are from Indonesia, two are from Pakistan, and one is from Bangladesh.
Among the 11 cases, 5 people were detected with the N501Y variant virus. They were the 11570th (64-year-old man), 11572 (28-year-old man), 11575 (41-year-old man), 11577 (74-year-old man), and 11581. (25-year-old woman) In the case, two of them were from Pakistan, two were from India, and one was from Bangladesh.
Among them, the 25-year-old woman from Bangladesh is a foreign domestic helper. She arrived in Hong Kong on March 29 and stayed at the Grandview Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui. The diagnosis was only confirmed on the 12th day.
As for the cases where no variant virus has been detected, there are also two foreign domestic helpers from Indonesia and India.
In the past 14 days (March 28 to April 10), a total of 123 new cases were added, including 25 local cases, of which 10 were of unknown origin.
