Police forces operated last night in the Issawiya neighborhood of East Jerusalem, arresting three suspects in the attack on the bus last night, including two minors.

The suspects were taken in for questioning.

Last night (Saturday evening), rioters threw stones and rocks at an Egged bus that got lost and entered the Issawiya neighborhood.

The vehicle contained a driver of the Egged company and his family members who were traveling privately.

The driver took a shortcut in the neighborhood before a crowd began to gather and throw stones, Molotov cocktails and rocks at the vehicles.

Due to the throwing of Molotov cocktails, part of the bus started to catch fire, but was extinguished after a short time.

The family members escaped unharmed from the bus, and joined the security forces that were nearby.

Much damage was done to the vehicle.

The Organization of Bus Drivers in Israel from the Histadrut said: "It is time for all legislators to understand that a bus is portrayed by citizens and terrorists as a clear government symbol and therefore they want to harm it. Only recognizing bus drivers as public employees can save their lives and the lives of passengers. perpetual".

The Minister of Transportation and Road Safety, Miri Regev: "Strengthens the hand of an Egged driver who was attacked this evening in East Jerusalem. This is a serious incident that could have ended in a much more difficult way. I trust the security forces and police to arrest those responsible for the incident."
