Peruvians are exercising their right to vote amid a second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) the first results of the day could be given before midnight local time.
To be elected president of Peru, a candidate must have 50% or more of the total votes.
In case of not having enough votes, the two candidates with the highest number of votes will go to a second round.
