Corona vaccine manufacturers have warned that global vaccine supplies are threatened due to a shortage of some components.
The Guardian newspaper quoted Stan Eric, CEO of Novavax, the Corona Vaccine Factory in Britain, that there is a shortage of plastic containers with a capacity of two thousand liters, which are used to incubate serum cells and allow them to grow in appropriate conditions, which hinders the provision of adequate quantities of various vaccines on World level.
The manufacturers of these containers indicated that the shortage of elements that make up the containers has caused a long waiting list for companies that request them, including Pfizer, Novafax and Our Company, so that the waiting period in this list reaches 12 months.
The newspaper pointed out that the United States decided to prevent the export of plastic containers manufactured in its territory to abroad at the present time in order to meet local needs, especially those needed by Pfizer, which will cause a further shortage of this product worldwide.
She explained that the supplies of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine were affected worldwide in light of the delay in delivering five million doses from India, as well as a delay in the manufacturing process in Britain, in addition to a severe disagreement over the vaccine supplies between Britain and the European Union.
It is noteworthy that the total number of infections due to the emerging corona virus in the world exceeded 136 million, while the total deaths exceeded two million and 940 thousand deaths since its spread in February of last year.
