According to the state nuclear organization AEOI, an incident occurred on Sunday night at the Iranian nuclear facility in Natans.
There were no injuries and no pollutants were released, reported news agencies, citing the spokesman for the Iranian Atomic Energy Agency, Behruz Kamalvandi.
The cause of the incident is being investigated.
Kamalvandi therefore spoke of an "incident in part of the electricity distribution network" of the uranium enrichment plant.
The incident occurred a day after Iran put new centrifuges on stream to speed up uranium enrichment in Natan's.
The use of the modern centrifuges is another violation of Tehran's international nuclear agreement of 2015, the revival of which is currently being negotiated in Vienna.
Iran had undertaken to only use the older generation of centrifuges IR-1 and to keep the uranium enrichment level below 4 percent.

However, under the then President Donald Trump in 2018, the USA unilaterally withdrew from the agreement and imposed new sanctions against Iran.
Since then, Tehran has also gradually withdrawn from its obligations.
According to the AEOI, the country has enriched 57 kilograms of 20 percent uranium within four months.
Uranium with different levels of enrichment is used as fuel for nuclear reactors and weapons.

In July of last year there was an explosion in one of the working halls of the plant in Natans.
The Iranian authorities spoke of an "act of sabotage" for which they blamed "terrorists".
The results of an investigation into the incident have not yet been published.
