Amir Raz, the former police officer accused of murdering his late wife Diana Deadbiev, last February, is fit to stand trial, according to the opinion of the district psychiatrist, which was submitted today (Sunday) to the Central District Court.
During the hearing, Sharaz was not brought to him and was partly videotaped, Diana's mother and sister went to the screen and called out to him: "A murdered murderer! All your life you will suffer. Raise your head, look, raise your eyes - you killed your children too."
An opinion submitted to the court actually supports a previous opinion, given before the indictment was filed, according to which even then a psychiatrist determined that he was fit for detention.
Upon filing the indictment against Raz, the defense requested that he pass another, comprehensive examination, which was filed today (Sunday) in the Central District Court, and also in which it was determined, as stated, that he is fit.
As reported in "Israel Today", the indictment filed at the end of February this year details the offenses that Raz allegedly committed in their shared home in Na'ala earlier that month, including aggravated murder, assault of a minor or helpless by a person in charge and abuse of a minor or lack of knowledge by a person in charge.
The indictment, filed by attorney Natalie Hagai of the Department of Police Investigations at the State Attorney's Office in the Lod Central District Court, states that Raz shot to death in Dadeviv in front of their four children aged 7, 4 and 3 and a year.
In addition, he is accused of assaulting his 7-year-old daughter.
The prosecution claimed that Raz initially confessed to the act but later withdrew his confession.
According to the indictment, against the background of a previous disturbance in the Razs' relationship, he left their joint home in July last year, and after about three weeks - returned home by a joint decision of the two.
The indictment further states that on the morning of Friday, February 5, a verbal argument began between the couple following Diana's suspicion that her husband was cheating on her.
During the argument, she poured a cup of lukewarm coffee on Amir.
At this point, the defendant went up to his and his wife’s bedroom to change his clothes.
So, he took out the Glock personal gun from the safe in the closet, and put it in a dedicated holster that was on his waist.
After that, Raz left the house, and shortly afterwards Diana as well.
When the two returned home, the argument flared up again and at this point, Raz's decision to kill Deadbave came to her heart.
To do this, Raz took out an 8.20-meter-long rope, called his three older children, sat them on small chairs in the living room and tied them up, while the baby sat in a dining chair next to them.
Next, Raz picked up a kitchen knife with a 20-inch-pointed blade, and placed it on the dining room table.
"Yes! There is no mother now"
When Diana noticed her children tied to chairs, she got angry and shouted at Raz to explain his actions.
In response, he began to hit her in front of the children, grabbed her by the shirt in the neck area with both hands, pulled her towards the front door, and next to her he pressed his hand to her neck and strangled her tightly.
During the fight, Diana shouted at her 7-year-old daughter to call a neighbor for help.
Upon hearing cries of terror, the girl managed to free herself from the tying.
She tried to reach the stairs to reach the neighbor so that she could help her mother, but Raz pulled his daughter tightly in her hand, knocked her down the stairs and caused her injuries.
Diana, fearing for her life, tried to open the door of the house with the intention of escaping, but the defendant prevented her from doing so, closed the door, took the knife from the table and stabbed her twice in her left thigh.
Diana continued to wrestle a faucet, trying unsuccessfully to take the knife from him.
Raz took the gun out of her vagina, and in front of their four children, while Diana begged for her life, shot her one bullet in the back of her right thigh, and towards her head.
Immediately afterwards, he called out to his crying children: "Yes! Now there is no mother."
At the end, Raz released his children from tying the rope, while they were frightened and crying, and ordered them to be quiet and go up to the top floor of the house.
His eldest daughter asked him if he was going to kill them too, and he did not answer her.
Raz called his mother and his police chief and asked them to come to his house soon.
Only about an hour and a half after the shooting, when the defendant's commander arrived at the house, did he call Hotline 100 and report the incident.
