Three defendants: male defendant (30 years old, shipping worker, hereinafter referred to as father), the biological father of boy X and girl Z involved; female defendant (30 years old, housewife, hereinafter referred to as stepmother), male defendant The second wife, the stepmother of the younger brothers and sisters; the third defendant (56 years old, accounting clerk, hereinafter referred to as: stepmother), is the mother of the defendant.
The father and stepmother were charged with one count of murder, alleging that they murdered girl Z on January 6, 2018.
The two denied the murder, but pleaded guilty to manslaughter, which was not accepted by the prosecution.
In addition, the father and stepmother have pleaded guilty to two crimes of cruel treatment of children.
The grandmother denied four counts of cruel treatment of children, accusing her of deliberately torturing and neglecting Girl Z and Boy X from August 10, 2017 to January 6, 2018.
X and Z were 8 and 5 years old at the time of the incident.
