INTERVIEW - After seven months of fighting, Veolia has reached an agreement with Suez and will buy out its competitor. The CEO of the environmental giant lifts the veil on the weekend's negotiations and details his project.

- What state of mind are you in the day after this agreement allowing the merger of Veolia and Suez?

Antoine FRÉROT.

I am very happy to be able now to concretely build the great champion of ecological transformation that I have been carrying for months.

I am delighted to have been able to maintain the industrial integrity of this exciting project.

I now have only one priority: looking to the future to translate this agreement into action.

It is the principle of an agreement to be the result of reciprocal concessions.

I mainly dealt with the price, from the moment when the industrial integrity of my project was guaranteed by the perimeter of the new Suez, since all the strategic assets that we had identified will join Veolia.
