A 46-year-old woman was found stabbed dead Friday evening at her home in Beire-le-Châtel (Côte-d'Or) before the body of her companion was discovered at the foot of a viaduct, we have learned Monday April 12 from the Dijon prosecutor's office.

Friday evening, the gendarmes were alerted by the ex-wife of the man, who had just told him that he had "
killed his current companion and that he was going to put an end to his life
", specifies the prosecution in a communicated.
The gendarmes went to the victim's home, where they discovered his lifeless body.
Two knives, kitchen knife type, bloodied, were on the scene.
The vehicle of her spouse, then actively sought, was found empty about sixty kilometers away, on the edge of the A6 motorway near Pouilly-en-Auxois (Côte-d'Or).
The body of the 46-year-old man was discovered soon after, at the foot of a motorway viaduct "
from which he had obviously just thrown himself
".
An autopsy, carried out on Sunday, revealed that the body of the forties bore "about
fifteen wounds caused by two bladed weapons
", located "
in the thorax and neck
", adds the prosecution.
No complaint or ongoing procedure has been found for previous domestic violence within this couple, continues the same source, who however notes that this man was sentenced in July 2017 to a day-fine for acts of violence against his ex-wife.
He was also fined in March 2019 for carrying out archaeological excavations without authorization.
He was summoned to the Dijon Criminal Court in September for theft and he was currently the subject of a criminal composition for irregular possession of collector's weapons.
