It is no longer possible for kindergarten children to ride on the school bus for reasons of liability.
Renting minibuses is too expensive.
A solution is not in sight in the municipality of Zolling.
Zolling -
The community would like to help parents in districts such as Oberappersdorf, Gerlhausen and Palzing to bring their children to daycare.
Since the end of January they have no longer been able to ride normally in the school bus due to liability reasons.
The administration referred to a corresponding leaflet from the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior.
Most recently there were six to eight children.
According to Mayor Helmut Priller, there have been more.
That is why he recently proposed to the local council to contact the parents and determine the need.
The kindergarten should also be included in the investigation.
Because neither of the two alternatives would be cheap: hiring a supervisor to ride in the school bus, and not even the rented minibus.
But you definitely don't want to leave your parents alone with the problem.
That much turned out to be a new debate.
“In principle, we would be willing to subsidize that proportionately.
The amount would have to be determined specifically, ”said Priller.
But he also made it clear that the community is not obliged to do so.
According to Priller, the parents are not entitled to a promotion.
According to an initial request from bus companies, the cost of a minibus for six to eight children would be 86 euros.
That would be around ten euros per day per child.
Zolling's mayor warns against a quick shot
Alternatively, a supervisor who drives with the kindergarten children on the school bus would probably not be cheap either.
Gottfried Glatt (CSU) speculated in the local council on 1,800 euros.
“It would almost be wiser to support a private person,” he suggested.
Glatt spoke out categorically in favor of the companion model.
He received support from party friend Andrea Bachmaier.
She stated succinctly: “The school bus only brings something if it also takes the kindergarten children with it.” Karl Toth (UBZ) expressed doubts.
“Because of the different times of school and kindergarten,” he pointed out.
Annemarie Neumair (also CSU) commented: "We also let our children ride the school bus, even if everyone else was driven by car."
The community wants to wait for the kindergarten registrations first
In the end, Priller advocated “not taking a quick shot.” In any case, Toth wanted to wait for kindergarten registration.
We'll know more on July 31, ”was his prognosis.
Priller suggested that the administration should "start" with questioning the parents and the kindergarten in any case.
The decision should therefore be postponed to one of the next meetings.
There was no longer any contradiction.
