Patrick and Isabelle Balkany were sentenced on appeal in May 2020 to respectively five and four years in prison for laundering tax fraud, without immediate imprisonment due to their state of health.
At first instance, Patrick Balkany was sentenced to four years, with a warrant of committal.
He was immediately imprisoned at the Health prison where he remained for five months before being released on February 12, 2020, for health reasons.
