The vice president of the Council of the Magistracy

, Judge Alberto Lugones

, requested this Monday the head of that body to ask the Supreme Court to declare the judicial fair "for health reasons", given the advance of the coronavirus pandemic.

And also that the highest court requires the "national authorities" vaccinations for personnel considered essential within the Judicial Power.

In his note to the president of the Council Diego Molea, Lugones requested that he require the Court to "consider declaring a judicial fair for health reasons" in the same terms that were issued last year, when the pandemic was declared.

Also, as in 2020, Lugones asked that "all the personnel of the Judicial Power of the Nation be urged to work telematically, ensuring the least possible presence."

Lugones, vice president of the organization, also required, in what has to do with the Council's activity, "the suspension of the face-to-face activities of all non-essential personnel."

"All this due to the escalation of cases in the last week and in the face of the second wave of the Covid-19 virus," the criminal judge postulated.

But in addition, he asks the Council to

pressure the Supreme Court to obtain doses for part of the judicial personnel who carry out essential activities.

"That the high court requires the national authorities to plan to include essential personnel who must attend their workplaces within the national vaccination plan."

Judges and prosecutors and the members of the Supreme Court themselves would be included in that range.

After the strict quarantine last year, several magistrates returned to visit their offices.

Although they don't usually go every day.

Some of the members of the Supreme Court also go to court.

Last week, amid the flood of infections, it was learned that Judge María Romilda Servini (84) was infected with coronavirus and complained that she had not yet received the second dose of the Sputnik V vaccine.

Lugones' request for vaccines for the judiciary adds to the pressure of the Electoral Justice that in the last week insisted before the national government so that the personnel in charge of carrying out the next legislative elections be considered strategic and vaccinated against Covid- 19 in the medium term.

It is about at least 500 people who will participate in the assembly of the two elections.
