The Ministry of Tourism, in cooperation with the Syrian Virtual University, has completed its preparations for launching the Applied College to teach the Bachelor’s program in Tourism and Hotel Management, and it will be based at the Technical Institute for Tourism and Hotel Sciences in the Qudsaya suburb of Damascus countryside.
This is the first program in the blended education style, whereby the virtual university is responsible for teaching theoretical courses that can be implemented through its e-learning system and its access centers, while practical courses are implemented in the institutes and training centers of the Ministry of Tourism.
The Director of Educational Affairs at the Ministry of Tourism, Fadi Nizam, said in a statement to the delegate of SANA that this program comes to meet the needs of the labor market of specialists in tourism and hotel work, especially in the reconstruction phase, pointing to the importance of providing students with the theoretical and practical knowledge they need to graduate efficient and specialized human cadres.
Nizam pointed out that the program is directed to students with a high school diploma in its literary, scientific, commercial and hotel professional branches, so that they can pursue their educational attainment in tourism and hotel management and tourism marketing, pointing to the adoption of the promotion system for students of technical institutes for tourism and hotel sciences in order to develop their knowledge and experience and develop their career path.
