At a meeting between Finance Minister Israel Katz and representatives of Defense Minister Bnei Gantz - Tourism Minister Orit Farkash HaCohen and Deputy Prime Minister Hod Betzer - two alternatives were formulated that may allow the purchase of vaccines.
One option is to approve the original proposal formulated by the Ministries of Health and Finance, but to condition its implementation on the approval of the Economic Cabinet at every stage in the implementation of the plan.
The second option is to approve in the government only the purchase of the vaccines and wait with the rest of the needs of the Ministry of Health for another date.
As you may recall, in blue and white, the approval of the purchase of vaccines was postponed until a permanent appointment of a Minister of Justice, as the current situation causes "harm to the rule of law and democracy."
The director general of the Ministry of Health, Prof. Hezi Levy, told "Israel Today" that the government's decision on the matter is "very urgent and critical." .
