The mayor (DVG) of Orly has just launched a petition, while the new line has come into service between the Porte de Choisy in Paris and the

The table was almost perfect to satisfy everyone.

The T9 tram, awaited for more than thirty years, has just been put into service this Saturday between the Porte de Choisy in Paris (13th arrondissement) and the city center of Orly.

But a small part of the route is missing to offer an absolutely optimal service, according to Christine Janodet.

Mayor DVG of Orly is launching an online citizen appeal to demand the extension of the tramway from Place Gaston-Viens, its current terminus, to the airport.

Several hundred signatures have already been collected.

Objective: "Better serve the employment area of the airport platform (Sogaris, Senia, MIN, etc.) and link up with the future station of metro line 14 at the airport", explains Christine Janodet.

Between the current terminus and the terminals, it requires "at least one stop in interconnection with the RER C, the future TGV station and the service of the future line 18 of the Grand Paris Express".

In the meantime, she hopes that the buses of line 183 will be "better timed" on the portion connecting the city center to the airport.

“I asked for a higher rotation,” she warns.

A fight for several years

This is not the first time that the elected representative has stepped up to the plate on this subject.

"At each institutional meeting where the State is represented, I defend the interest of having this extension and demand the realization of feasibility studies and the inclusion of the project in the State-Region plan contract", he confides. it.

In December 2019, during the presentation of the first train, Christine Janodet again raised the subject with Valérie Pécresse (Libres!), President of Ile-de-France Mobilités.

"She replied:

I'll go if the State goes

..."

Negotiations on track

Four conditions must be met to achieve this, according to Ile-de-France Mobilités: obtain a political agreement, validate the technical possibility, the interest for the public of such an extension and, of course, find the money.

Negotiations to include it in the future State-Region plan contract seem to be going in the right direction since, this Saturday during the inauguration, Valérie Pécresse advanced: "It is a tram that will provide service to the 13th arrondissement. to Orly and, soon, in the future, to the airport.

The mayor of Orly, supported by the president of the department Christian Favier (PCF), wants to believe it: “We had already obtained the modification of the route so that it serves our city, because it was originally supposed to stop at Choisy-le-Roi.

The reception of the tram storage center on the Orlysian right-of-way had helped to obtain this additional service.

Nearly 80,000 travelers are expected to use this new means of transport every day between the north and south of Val-de-Marne.
