Trial of the BAC de Marseille: 18 police officers in court

2021-04-12T02:32:09.502Z

The men, aged 37 to 60, are being prosecuted for robbing drug traffickers and other dealers of contraband cigarettes.

This Monday, April 12, at the Marseille Criminal Court, it is not dealers but no less than 18 former police officers of the Marseille anti-crime brigade who will be tried for their alleged slippages, in the so-called "BAC North" trial.

Real "rascals" or simple field cops who have little regard for the procedures?

The judges will have to decide at the end of two weeks of hearings in which these men, aged 37 to 60, will appear, prosecuted for having robbed, nine years ago, drug traffickers and other dealers of contraband cigarettes whom they controlled in cities of the northern districts of the city.

Cannabis bars, bags full of money, cartons of cigarettes: then ordered by Jean Fiorenti, 41 years old, Mohamed Chenine, 36 years old and Bruno Carrasco, 51 years old, the three day groups of the North BAC were using copiously, like the suggest their discussions, from May to October 2012, while their offices and vehicles were "sounded" by the General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN).

"They paid on the beast, they took their dime," said

the prosecutor of Marseille, Jacques Dallest, in October 2012, stigmatizing a service victim of

"gangrene"

.

"There is no place for those who soil the police uniform"

, had accused Manuel Valls, then Minister of the Interior, before dissolving the entire brigade.

The “sound system” of July 17, 2012, featuring Jean Fiorenti in particular, seems to sum up the spirit that reigned in the service:

“We are starting to have a good little group, where we know that we are shutting our heads.

What is said in the car stays in the car ”

.

Other recordings seem overwhelming.

Here we talk about a bag containing

"more than 2,500 euros"

, stolen from a dealer in the city of Rosiers, which allows

"to treat five colleagues"

.

There, it is an illegal search,

"in the Mexican"

, in an apartment, where four police officers fail on the wire to steal 2,000 euros of merchandise.

Then there is this

"gypsy"

, in their words, from whom they

"steal a little dough"

.

Or this snatch thief finally released after negotiation:

"Come on, give us two bars

(of cannabis)

and we'll leave you alone

.

"

"Hay fever"

If they will be 18 on the defendants' bench, there should be only one victim on the civil party side.

Arrested on August 31, 2012, quoted Fontvert, aboard an Audi A3, in possession of cocaine, hashish and thousands of euros in small denominations, Karim Menacer accuses the police of the North BAC of having stolen 9,000 euros from him. the 36,000 euros he had in his vehicle, in small denominations.

On the defense side, it is estimated that this case has been inflated.

Denouncing

"the thunderous communication"

of the prosecutor Dallest, Me Alain Lhote, the lawyer of Bruno Carrasco prefers to ironize:

"From gangrene, we passed to hay fever"

, he assures AFP.

As for the three former BAC at the origin of the case, by their denunciations, they are

"junk whistleblowers"

, revenge after being fired from the service.

"

This file, it is the mountain which gives birth to a mouse"

, supports Me Frédéric Monneret, lawyer of two other police officers.

Returning to their recorded words, the defendants explained that they were

"jokes"

,

"big delusions"

, or

"humorous words"

.

The stolen cigarettes?

To give them

"to the homeless"

assured one of them.

Some have recognized occasional slippages, like Patrick Morio, 55 years old: these 540 euros recovered in the bag abandoned by a dealer, it was

"a blast of lead"

.

Nicolas Falquet, 37, calls into question the policy of the hierarchy figure.

As for Régis Dutto, 42, this bag stolen from a dealer in the city of Félix-Pyat, it was only to pay his

"uncle"

(indicator) in another city, in La Castellane, he says.

Among the 18 defendants, who will all appear free, three were dismissed after the IGPN investigation, including Bruno Carrasco.

The other 15 were issued temporary disqualifications or reprimands and are still police officers.

One of them found a job at BAC North.
