The school management reacted immediately.

Freising

- It has been the new morning ritual in schools since Monday: If you want to take part in lessons, you have to be tested for Corona beforehand.

The FT asked some schools how the premiere went - and encountered the first cases of hardship.

How the Dom-Gymnasium fared in Freising on Monday should only be an example of the scenarios in many schools in the coming weeks.

And yet Manfred Röder, head of the “Dom”, especially emphasized the advantages of the tests.

For Röder it was “a somewhat exciting day”.

The reason for this: With slightly fewer than a handful of the final school students who are currently in classroom lessons, the test results were unclear.

"There were anomalies, but we weren't sure whether the test results were really positive or there were teething troubles in handling the tests."

You should report to the health department and subject it to a PCR test.

Headmaster: "That can happen to anyone at the moment"

“We discussed such a scenario well with the students in advance.

Therefore, the situation has not caused a great deal of excitement, ”reported Röder.

On the one hand, such tests are always only a tendency and never a final result.

“On the other hand, it can happen to anyone at the moment.

So there is no reason to put someone in the corner. ”The other young people wouldn't do that either.

In any case, the tests are a protection for all students.

"It's much better that way than when someone becomes a multiplier for two or three days as an undetected infected person."

"I am pleasantly surprised and relieved," reports Elisabeth Gaßner, Rector of the Vötting Primary School in Freising.

“The tests worked better than expected.” Although numerous elementary school parents across Bavaria, including in Zolling and the surrounding area, had expressed their concerns about such tests in the classroom, almost all fourth graders came on Monday.

In addition, younger children who are currently using emergency care were also tested, reports Gaßner.

"All the children have mastered it with ease."

Elementary school children well prepared for tests

However, the primary school students were also well prepared.

Some parents had already practiced the test with their children during their holidays.

An educational film suitable for children was shown at school.

And Gaßner himself also tested himself live in the classroom.

Daily tests must be carried out at the Freising State Vocational School Center.

“Most of the classes are only here once a week,” explains headmaster Daniel Spreng.

"Because different students come every day, we also have to test every day."

Corona tests went "calmly over the stage"

On Monday, around 200 young people from 14 graduating classes took a smear, reports Spreng, who made a picture for himself.

His conclusion: “The students did a great job.

Nobody grumbled. ”In the end, all test results were negative.

Juliane Stubenrauch-Böhme, head of the Oskar-Maria-Graf-Gymnasium, reported that the tests on Monday were also "calmly over the stage".

At the Neufahrner Gymnasium, tests are carried out at least twice a week.
