Laurent Wauquiez is sounding the alert.
In a letter sent to the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron and broadcast in
Le Dauphiné
, President LR of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region urges the authorities to "
prevent the installation
" of a Muslim school in the town of Albertville, in Savoy.
He explains that the city councilor was forced on Friday April 9 by the administrative court of Grenoble to authorize the construction of this private school, planned for 400 students.
"
The school would be an establishment without contract, the orientation of which will very clearly consist in promoting values which are not those of the Republic today
", writes Laurent Wauquiez.

In his letter, the former minister specifies that Frédéric Burnier-Framboret, the mayor of Albertville, "
is the subject of strong pressure from the Islamist organization Millî Görüs whose links with Turkey are known - to grant a building permit for a school project
”which also recalls the links between this association and Turkey.
"
Your Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin himself designated Millî Görüs as 'enemies of the Republic'
", he continues, before referring to the bill on separatism.
This association was already at the heart of a controversy in Strasbourg a few weeks ago, when the city hall voted the principle of a subsidy for the construction of a mosque.
The Minister of the Interior then blamed the city's environmentalist mayor for financing "foreign interference".

For Laurent Wauquiez, the creation of this school would organize "
the break between the Turkish community and the rest of the town
".
He denounces "
a disproportionate project which includes 16 classes, a gymnasium, and which is intended to accommodate (...) a quarter of the pupils of Albertville
".
“
I appeal to you to have this matter settled.
So that we get out of the hypocrisies where, on the one hand, there are major legal texts and, on the other hand, a reality which is imposed on local elected officials and which deprives them of any possibility of action of struggle against communitarianism,
”writes the president of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.
And to conclude: "
It would be tragic for the President of the Republic to be powerless to enforce the principles that he himself has set as a guideline for our country.
"
