On April 30, the 39-year-old surrenders his party membership card.
This ends his SPD membership - and it also means the end of the SPD local association, which the leader has previously been in charge of.
He wants to keep his mandate as a local councilor as a non-party.

The SPD failed at the federal and state levels.
Leiter is certain that his party will move into the opposition after the general election.
"She showed far too little edge in the grand coalition and preferred to highlight herself publicly in internal party disputes." Environmental issues addressed too late
In particular, the mistake of leaving the issue of climate and environmental protection to the Greens, who completely ignore the social aspect, is becoming more and more noticeable in the surveys.
“They are slowly moving in that direction too, but unfortunately too late.” It is difficult for small local associations like Aying to “hold up the flag.” He tried to continue to stand up for social democratic issues, but is now giving up.

Despite leaving the SPD, he remains a Social Democrat with heart and soul.

And keeps a back door open: "If the SPD decides to go back to politics, recognizes elected chairpersons and does not spend so much energy trying to let the chairperson fail, then I'm happy to be there again." Local club Aying with its dozen members should merge with the local club in Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn, as the local club Brunnthal did a few years ago.
As early as 2018, the local club was about to end, but thanks to the leaders it was able to be revived again.
Now it seems foreseeable that the 36-year-old local club history will come to an end.
