In the past few days, the vaccination campaign against the coronavirus has picked up speed.
And it should go even faster in an Upper Bavarian district.

- Family doctors have been supporting the vaccination campaign in the district since the beginning of April.
And according to Dr.
Christian Günzel, health care doctor in the district and a general practitioner himself, they do this "super motivated" and extremely successfully.
A good 2000 people have already received their first Corona vaccination from family doctors in the district - "and there will be many more," as Günzel promises.
Corona vaccination: General practitioners report overloaded telephone lines
Sure, the GP vaccination didn't go off without any stumbling blocks.
Due to the "massive number of inquiries" there were sometimes overloaded telephone lines.
In any case, there are currently “a lot of corona-associated inquiries from general practitioners”;
A flood of calls from patients willing to be vaccinated then unfortunately led to problems in one or the other practice.
Günzel therefore asks for patience: “The general practitioners know their patients.
They made lists of who can and wants to be vaccinated. ”Accordingly, the practices would approach the patients with appointments.
Günzel recommends that younger patients write their doctor an e-mail asking for a vaccination appointment.
“A healthy 40-year-old”, says Günzel, “doesn't need to call.
He can do it differently ”.
District citizens who have registered with the Bavaria-wide vaccination portal Bayimco and have now been vaccinated by their family doctor must, according to the health department, also take care of de-registering with Bayimco themselves.
An automatic notification of the family doctor or the health insurance to the portal is namely not (yet) possible.
"But we hope that this will still be changed," said Günzel.
Bureaucracy makes corona vaccinations difficult for general practitioners
In general, the bureaucracy.
Compared to the flu vaccination, which general practitioners can do "on the side", the corona vaccination actually uses a lot of paper.
But Günzel sees it this way: “This is a new medical procedure with possible side effects.
You have to clarify and document it. ”In three or four years, the doctor hopes,“ we certainly won't do that anymore ”.
Neither Günzel nor the district office - for example via the website www.landkreis-dachau.de - can and are not allowed to provide a summary of the general practitioners in the district vaccinating against Corona.
For data protection reasons, he is not allowed to pass this on, said Günzel.
The patients therefore have no choice but to find out from their family doctor whether he is vaccinating against corona.
General practitioners "become the key" because of the corona vaccination
Basically, however, those responsible in the district and health department are convinced of the family doctor vaccinations.
“They will be the key,” believes Günzel.
In addition, the “vaccine turbo” will be ignited in the two vaccination centers in the coming days: At the meeting of the so-called pandemic group in the district office last Friday, it was announced that the district will receive a lot of vaccine in the coming days - from Biontech and Astrazeneca and thus, according to Günzel, “within the next ten days, everyone over 60 can be offered an initial vaccination”.
In Starnberg, too, over 2000 people were vaccinated against the corona virus during a special vaccination campaign last weekend.
